PNAPANJ INITIATIVES 2005 <br />

A. Unify Filipino-American Nurses in the USA and its territories,<br />

* PNAPaNJ monthly meetings<br />

• Participated in the <strong>PNAA</strong> Northeastern Regional Conference in<br />

Atlantic City October 16 & 17"<br />

• Membership Drives<br />

• Hosted Christmas "Baile" Party for the Nurses and the community,<br />

Dec. 18,"0~<br />

• Attended the 26 th <strong>PNAA</strong> annual convention in Kahsa City, Missouri<br />

July, 2005<br />

• Election of PNAPaNJ Board of Directors 2006-2008 scheduled<br />

January 2006<br />

B. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs in nursing leadership,<br />

practice, education, and research relevant to professional growth of its<br />

members and healthcare needs of the community.<br />

• Applied and received NJ State special purpose grant for 2<br />

consecutive years (<strong>2004</strong>-2005) that'funded scholarship for 7<br />

nursing senior students, NCLEX review classes for 18 Filipino<br />

nurses (Philippine graduates and local graduates) ,public health<br />

education and seminars for Nurses and the community and soon to<br />

start a basic computer class for adults aged 52 years and above.<br />

• Provided BP screening and health education to the elderly and the<br />

community during the Filipino Seniors Health Fair in Philadelphia,<br />

Pa., during seminars of the Phil. Community of Southern New<br />

Jersey and during the PIDC picnic, 04/'05.<br />

• Participated as a Faculty of the PCSNJ Age Integrated Community<br />

Based Leadership Institute ... Topic "Different types of Leadership"<br />

C. Facilitate professional. and cultural adjustments of Filipino-American<br />

Nurses in the USA through collaboration with agencies and<br />

organizations in the USA and the Philippines.<br />

• Appointment of Liaison officers to serve as links to PNAPANJ<br />

D. Participate actively in professional and cultural activities with<br />

professional organizations and agencies in the community ahd globally.<br />

• Participated in the Marinduque Medical Mission in <strong>2004</strong> & 2005 (<br />

c/o Jing Sto Domingo Vice President)<br />

• Actively visible and participating in all activities of the Filipino<br />

Executive Council of Greater Philadelphia i.e. Philippine<br />

Independence Celebrations, general assembly meetings and
