A. Unify Filipino-American nurses in the USA and its<br />

territories.<br />

• Executive Board met monthly with biannual general<br />

membership meetings.<br />

• The Philippine Nightingale, PNA~Tampa newsletter was<br />

,<br />

published twice a year.<br />

• PNATampa.com was launched to meet the challenge of<br />

global means of communication and a cost-effective way <br />

of sharing information with the members. <br />

• Membership campaign held throughout the year with<br />

incentives such as free membership fee with 5 paid<br />

recruits, PNA-Tampa pin and free educational programs.<br />

B. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs in<br />

nursing leadership, practice, education and research<br />

relevant to professional growth of its members and<br />

healthcare needs of the community. .<br />

• Provided free CEU offerings twice a year during the<br />

general membership meetings. '<br />

• PNA-Tampa collaborated with recruitment and screening<br />

of bone marrow donors for a member's relative awaiting<br />

bone marrow transplant. ,<br />

• Published research article of a member through the PNA­<br />

Tampa newsletter.<br />

• PNA Tampa awarded partial scholarships to 6 nursing<br />

stUdents in the Philippines,<br />

c. Facilitate professional and cultural adjustment of<br />

Filipino-American nurses in the USA through<br />

collaboration with agencies and organizations in the<br />

USA and the Philippines.<br />

• Collaborated with nurse recruiters and other agencies to<br />

help new nurses adjust in their new way of life and<br />

promote PNA-Tampa membership to its recruits.<br />

• Invited new Filipino nurses to the different events ..<br />

sponsored by PNA-Tampa- Nurses Week, Halloween <br />

. Fund-raising event and Family Christmas Party. <br />

D. Participate actively in professional and cultural<br />

activities with professional organizations and<br />

agencies in the community and globally.<br />

• PNA-Tampa has been an active participant to various<br />

charitable and religious activities around'the Tampa Bay<br />

area.<br />

• PNA-Tampa is actively supporting The Philippine Cultural<br />

Foundation, Inc. Members volunteered as first aiders, BP<br />

screening and gave health teachings. pNA-Tampa built<br />

the PNA-Tampa Pavilion on its compound as legacy to<br />

future members of the association.
