This report summarizes the many on-going projects,
oommitt~ goals & accomplisluoonts ofth@outgoing&
incumbent board members. It is with great pride that I ,
incumbent president ofthe PNA Gulf Coast Fl share with you
. all the following:
1] PNAGF Nursing Incentive Scholarship Awards: in
December OS, 3 deserving students were awarded $1000 ea &
I student got $500; in Dec.04, I deserving student got
$lQQQ._QQ;
2] PNAGF Care Awardees were recognized in Dec OS in the
following areas: Clinical excellence; Community,Service;
Nurse Entrepreneur;
3] PNAGF members participated in a 3 day celebration ofthe
Filipino fiesta at the Bayanihan Arts Center in Oldsmar, FL
This is to support the goals ofthe Phil. Cultural Foundation to
promote ethnic & cultural activities;
4] PNAGF supports the American Cancer Society; May 06
marks the Sth year that its members actively participated in
Relay for Life, pledged and raised $1000.00 thru solicitations
& egg roll sales; Ple.ase. see our fun picture. in the s.ouvenir
Program Ad;
SJ Seminar on Women's Health held October 05 sponsored by
Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center & PNAGF; Dr. Rao
Musunuru, nationally known cardiologist gave a 2 hour lecture
followed by mandatory topics totalling 7 CEUs;
61 By Laws Committee is actively working to amend the By­
Laws to reflect the current needs ofthe organization;
7] Big Sister-Big Brother Program- the Exec. Board along with
its members are committed to assisting newly recruited Filipino
. Nurses; A number ofthem are needing transportation
assistance, as well as socialization & economic incentives;
8] Participation in the Nurse Competence in Aging Project;
PNAGF will hold a Seminar on Aging in May 07. in time for
Nurses' Week; This seminar will be open to aU nurses in the
Tampa Bay area.
9] Participation in National & Regional Conferences- there are .
5 delegates from PNAGF attending the NationaICo~ncem.
