This report summarizes the many on-going projects,<br />
oommitt~ goals & accomplisluoonts ofth@outgoing&<br />
incumbent board members. It is with great pride that I ,<br />
incumbent president ofthe PNA Gulf Coast Fl share with you<br />
. all the following:<br />
1] PNAGF Nursing Incentive Scholarship Awards: in<br />
December OS, 3 deserving students were awarded $1000 ea &<br />
I student got $500; in Dec.04, I deserving student got<br />
$lQQQ._QQ;<br />
2] PNAGF Care Awardees were recognized in Dec OS in the<br />
following areas: Clinical excellence; Community,Service;<br />
Nurse Entrepreneur;<br />
3] PNAGF members participated in a 3 day celebration ofthe<br />
Filipino fiesta at the Bayanihan Arts Center in Oldsmar, FL<br />
This is to support the goals ofthe Phil. Cultural Foundation to<br />
promote ethnic & cultural activities;<br />
4] PNAGF supports the American Cancer Society; May 06<br />
marks the Sth year that its members actively participated in<br />
Relay for Life, pledged and raised $1000.00 thru solicitations<br />
& egg roll sales; Ple.ase. see our fun picture. in the s.ouvenir<br />
Program Ad;<br />
SJ Seminar on Women's Health held October 05 sponsored by<br />
Bayonet Point Regional Medical Center & PNAGF; Dr. Rao<br />
Musunuru, nationally known cardiologist gave a 2 hour lecture<br />
followed by mandatory topics totalling 7 CEUs;<br />
61 By Laws Committee is actively working to amend the By<br />
Laws to reflect the current needs ofthe organization;<br />
7] Big Sister-Big Brother Program- the Exec. Board along with<br />
its members are committed to assisting newly recruited Filipino<br />
. Nurses; A number ofthem are needing transportation<br />
assistance, as well as socialization & economic incentives;<br />
8] Participation in the Nurse Competence in Aging Project;<br />
PNAGF will hold a Seminar on Aging in May 07. in time for<br />
Nurses' Week; This seminar will be open to aU nurses in the<br />
Tampa Bay area.<br />
9] Participation in National & Regional Conferences- there are .<br />
5 delegates from PNAGF attending the NationaICo~ncem.<br />
