ANNUAL REPORT- JULY 2005- JUNE 2006<br />

Year in Review: The high performing Leadership Team <strong>2004</strong>-2006 has made sustained contributions in<br />

achieving the Vision, Mission and Goals of<strong>PNAA</strong> as previously reported in the year <strong>2004</strong>-2005. The<br />

report was presented at the 26 th <strong>PNAA</strong> Annual Convention held at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center in<br />

Kansas City, Missouri on July 13-17,2005.<br />

The' 2005-2006 report reflects the progress and evidence-based outcomes of the Leadersbips' partnership<br />

and synergy in living and realizing our Vision for <strong>PNAA</strong>'s Preferred Future and strategies to achieve our<br />

mission and the following goals during this term.<br />

A. Unify Filipino-American Nurses in the USA and its territories.<br />

o Implementation of26 th <strong>PNAA</strong> Annual Convention, July 13-17,2005, Kansas, MO<br />

o Continued to successfully infuse <strong>PNAA</strong>'s Vision, mission, goals and programs through<br />

attendance and presentations in all 4 Regional Conferences to increase leader's visibility:<br />

. • 8 th Eastern Regional Conference, October 22 2005, Atlantic City, NJ<br />

• 7 th Western Regional Conference, January 24, 2006, Honolulu; ill<br />

• 7 th North Central Regional Conference, April 8, 2006, Chicago, IL<br />

• 6 th South Central Regional Conference, June2-3, 2006, San Antonio, Tx<br />

o Expanded <strong>PNAA</strong> website resulting in greater connectivity with members<br />

o Facilitated timely circulation ofNewsletter to all members<br />

o Sent President's Message and greetings to Chapter events and inductions<br />

o Streamlined Policy and Procedure for Chapter Membership application and<br />

standardized renewal process to enhance efficiency and timeliness of response<br />

resulting in decreased processing time to 2 months.<br />

o Approved 2 new Chapters (South TexaslRio Grande Valley and North Texas) and<br />

processed 3 rd new Chapter, Texas/Cameron County for EB acceptance.<br />

o Communicated with potential new chapters in Northeast Florida, Colorado and,<br />

Pennsylvania who have expressed interest in joining as official chapters. '<br />

o Increased national membership by 39% (3,408 members) the past 2 years compared to<br />

2005 total membership .<br />

Q Recognized contributions of members in achieving the mission and goals of <strong>PNAA</strong><br />

and awards given in a timely manner<br />

Q Changed <strong>PNAA</strong> Excellence Recognition to yearly instead oftraditional biennially.<br />

Q Upheld <strong>PNAA</strong> core values to promote unity and integrity as stated in the <strong>PNAA</strong><br />

Imperative: Leadership Team C-A-R-E-S<br />

B. Develop, implement, and evaluate programs in nursing leadership, practice, education<br />

and research relevant to professional growth of its members and healthcare needs ofthe<br />

community<br />

Q Coordinated and successfully implemented the 5 th International Nursing Conference"<br />

Global Partnership for a Preferred Future in Healthcare" in collaboration with PNA held at<br />

the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, ill on January 25-27,2006. Presidents and<br />
