Students will complete the minimum requirements, as specified below. In addition,<br />

students must complete upper division hours to total at least twenty-four (24)<br />

PHYS 1111*, 1309*, 1112*, 1310*, and 3323.<br />

GEOS 1304* or 1305* or 1307*; and 2401*.<br />

• Composite Social Studies major<br />

Students must choose a concentration in history, economics, or political science.<br />

Fifty-two (52) to sixty-one (61) semester hours are required, depending on the<br />

concentration selected.<br />

History Concentration<br />

History: HIST 3376 and 4-80; two (2) of the following courses: 1360* or 1375*,<br />

1361* or 1376*, 3362, 3365, 3367, 3368; two (2) of the following courses 1310*,<br />

1332*, 1334*, 1335*, 3365*, 3310, 3314, 3330, 3336; one (1) of the following<br />

courses: 1340, 3344, 3346; and (1) of the following courses: 1350*, 1351*, 1320*.<br />

Economics: ECON 1311*, 1312*, 2320, 3122; and one (1) upper division<br />

economics course.<br />

Political Science: PLSI 1303, 1331*; and one (1) of the following upper division<br />

courses: 3301, 3302, 3305, 3306, 3307, 3316.<br />

Social Sciences: URBS 1316/SOCI 1316 (Human Geography) and PSYC 1300*<br />

or SOCI 1301* (both course are recommended, but only one is required).<br />

(ECON 3323, 3330, 3334, 3336, 3338, or 3356).<br />

HIST 3376 and 4-80; one (1) lower division US course (HIST<br />

1360*, 1361*, 1375*, 1376*); one (1) lower division European<br />

course (HIST 1310*, 1332*, 1334*, or 1335*); one (1) lower<br />

division Latin American course (HIST 1340*); one (1) lower<br />
