Students will complete the minimum requirements, as specified below. In addition,
students must complete upper division hours to total at least twenty-four (24)
semester hours in one area.

CHEM 1118*, 1318*, 2119*, 2319*; 2220, and 2320.
PHYS 1111*, 1309*, 1112*, 1310*, and 3323.
GEOS 1304* or 1305* or 1307*; and 2401*.
• Composite Social Studies major
Students must choose a concentration in history, economics, or political science.
Fifty-two (52) to sixty-one (61) semester hours are required, depending on the
concentration selected.
History Concentration
History: HIST 3376 and 4-80; two (2) of the following courses: 1360* or 1375*,
1361* or 1376*, 3362, 3365, 3367, 3368; two (2) of the following courses 1310*,
1332*, 1334*, 1335*, 3365*, 3310, 3314, 3330, 3336; one (1) of the following
courses: 1340, 3344, 3346; and (1) of the following courses: 1350*, 1351*, 1320*.
Economics: ECON 1311*, 1312*, 2320, 3122; and one (1) upper division
economics course.
Political Science: PLSI 1303, 1331*; and one (1) of the following upper division
courses: 3301, 3302, 3305, 3306, 3307, 3316.
Social Sciences: URBS 1316/SOCI 1316 (Human Geography) and PSYC 1300*
or SOCI 1301* (both course are recommended, but only one is required).

HIST 3376 and 4-80; one (1) lower division US course (HIST
1360*, 1361*, 1375*, 1376*); one (1) lower division European
course (HIST 1310*, 1332*, 1334*, or 1335*); one (1) lower
division Latin American course (HIST 1340*); one (1) lower
division Middle Eastern/Asian course (HIST 1350*, 1351*,
1320*).
PLSI 1303, 1331*; and one (1) of the following upper division
courses: 3301, 3302, 3305, 3306, 3307, 3316.
