RUSSIAN
1. GNED 4300 Senior Interdisciplinary Seminar;
2. GNED 4301 Senior Synthesis; OR
3. GERM 4001.
The requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Arts with a major in Russian are as follows:
I. The common curriculum

Departmental requirements:
A. Completion of 21 semester hours, of which no more than 3 may be lower division
(2302). Upper division hours will include:
1. RUSS 3301
2. RUSS 3305
The RUSS 3305 requirement will be waived for students who have taken
ML&L 3340.
B. Completion of one of the following additional requirements:
1. Nine additional semester hours of upper division courses in Russian.
Students have the option of substituting up to 9 semester hours from the
following courses: ARTH 3362; ECON 3327; HIST 3311; PLSI 3335; OR
2. The lower division courses, or the equivalent, and at least 3 semester hours of
upper division courses in a second foreign language.
C. The Senior Experience requirement can be satisfied by completing GNED 4300
Senior Interdisciplinary Seminar, GNED 4301 Senior Synthesis, or RUSS 4001
Senior Experience. The first two options will be in addition to the 30 (or 21) ours
required for the Russian major, while the third will not.
SPANISH
The requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Arts with a major in Spanish are as
follows:
I. The common curriculum

Departmental requirements:
A. Completion of 21 semester hours, of which no more than 3 may be lower division
(2302). Upper division hours will include:
1. SPAN 3301
2. SPAN 3331
3. SPAN 3332
B. Completion of one of the following additional requirements:
1. Nine additional semester hours of upper division courses in Spanish
(students have the option of substituting one-semester-hour Spanish across
the Curriculum courses for up to three of these hours); OR
2. The lower division courses, or the equivalent, and at least three semester
hours of upper division courses in a second foreign language.
C. The Senior Experience requirement can be satisfied by completing GNED 4300
Senior Interdisciplinary Seminar, GNED 4301 Senior Synthesis, or SPAN 4001
