INTERNATIONAL STUDIES PROGRAM
International Studies is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree program that combines broad
approaches to world affairs, foreign language learning, experience abroad, and specialized studies
arranged in close consultation with the faculty advisory committee. Each student takes required
core courses and participates in other elements of the core and chooses one of the regional or
functional concentrations. All students in the program participate in the International Studies
Colloquium. Majors choose one of the senior options for an advanced research experience. The
number of hours for completion of the program varies according to the individual student’s plan of
study but may not be fewer than 33 semester hours for the major and 21 hours for the minor.
