Resource Management (IR) Emerging issues affecting<br />
employee well-being and workforce productivity. Impact <strong>of</strong><br />

pay, retention, and the aging workforce. Legal aspects <strong>of</strong><br />
FMLA, EAP, and ADA are included. Students will develop a<br />
wage survey and an action plan to implement into an organization.<br />

Research (FA, SP, SU) For graduate students who seek<br />
Certified Pr<strong>of</strong>essional or Certified Industrial Hygienist status,<br />
or both. Includes review and development <strong>of</strong> computer databases<br />
for standards, interpretations, court decisions, and<br />
field memoranda. Test equipment and procedures for determining<br />
indoor industrial aid containment PEL concentrations<br />
and industrial environment noise levels are examined.<br />

OMGT5303 Health Care Policies and Issues (IR)<br />
Health care management and policy development. Health<br />
insurance, Medicare and managed care. Health benefits for<br />
employees. The role <strong>of</strong> government and business in policy<br />
formulation. Financing <strong>of</strong> health care. Legal and ethical considerations<br />
in health care. Hospital and outpatient management<br />
issues.<br />
OMGT5373 Total Quality Management (FA, SP,<br />
SU) Implementation <strong>of</strong> modern participative quality management<br />
techniques in military and civilian operations.<br />
Includes quality control methods and control charts.<br />
Acceptance sampling plans with emphasis upon Department<br />
<strong>of</strong> Defense procurement standards. For operations management<br />
students in alternative course is INEG 4323. Either<br />
course, but not both, can be used for credit toward the operations<br />
management degree.<br />
OMGT5423 Engineering & Global Competition<br />
(SP) <strong>Studies</strong> <strong>of</strong> principles and cases in engineering administration<br />
in global competition. Emphasis on high-technology<br />
manufacturing such as the electronic industry. Survey <strong>of</strong> markets,<br />
technologies, multi-national corporations, cultures, and<br />
customs. Discussion <strong>of</strong> ethics, pr<strong>of</strong>essionalism, difference<br />
valuing, human relations skills, and other topics relevant to<br />
global engineering practice. Prerequisite: INEG 4433.<br />

An examination <strong>of</strong> the methodologies for estimating and forecasting<br />
manufacturing costs. Types <strong>of</strong> cost recovery systems,<br />
work progress functions, product improvement curves, determination<br />
<strong>of</strong> hourly rates, parametric estimating systems, and<br />
the development <strong>of</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tware for computer-assisted estimating<br />
systems. Prerequisite: INEG 3513 and INEG 3833.<br />
OMGT5463 Economic Decision Making (FA, SP,<br />
SU) Principles <strong>of</strong> engineering economic analysis with<br />
emphasis upon discounted cash flow criteria for decision<br />
making. Comparison <strong>of</strong> criteria such as rate <strong>of</strong> return, annual<br />
cost, and present worth for the evaluation <strong>of</strong> project alternatives.<br />

Psychological and physiological factors to be considered by<br />
the operations manager. Human perceptual and work capacities<br />
are examined in relation to various task situations, with<br />
emphasis on controlling and monitoring tasks. Fundamental<br />
