course dealing with developmental research methods as well<br />

Psychology (SP, Even years) A lecture and laboratory<br />

course dealing with techniques for investigating the relationship<br />

between brain functions and behavior in both human<br />

and animal research. Students should expect to carry out a<br />

research project using laboratory rats. Prerequisite: PSYC<br />

years) A lecture and laboratory course dealing with<br />

methodologies for the study <strong>of</strong> personality. Individual and/or<br />

Introduction to the basic principles <strong>of</strong> behavior modification<br />

and contingency management. Presents procedures <strong>of</strong> conditioning,<br />

reinforcement, token economy and self-control <strong>of</strong><br />

individuals and groups in a variety <strong>of</strong> settings with emphasis<br />

on discussions <strong>of</strong> research and ethics. Prerequisite: PSYC<br />

Examination <strong>of</strong> the biological basis <strong>of</strong> behavior. Surveys neuroanatomy,<br />

then investigates how the nervous system produces various<br />

types <strong>of</strong> behavior. Prerequisite: PSYC 2003.<br />

Similarities and differences in behavior across different<br />

species, including man. Special reference is made to principles<br />

concerning the organisms adjustment to its environment.<br />

PSYC5013 Advanced Developmental Psychology<br />

(SP) Critical examination <strong>of</strong> the research relevant to the<br />

psychological factors influencing the growth processes <strong>of</strong> the<br />

individual from birth to maturity. Prerequisite: PSYC 4073.<br />

PSYC5023 Neuropsychological Assessment (IR)<br />

Introduction to the principles, techniques, and tools <strong>of</strong><br />

assessment in clinical neuropsychology. Includes training in<br />

the interpretation, integration, and reporting <strong>of</strong> results.<br />

Prerequisite: PSYC 5043.<br />

PSYC5033 Psychopathology (FA) Psychological and<br />

somatic factors contributing to pathological behavior.<br />

Interrelations <strong>of</strong> these factors will be analyzed in terms <strong>of</strong><br />

how they lead to differential abnormal states. Prerequisite:<br />

PSYC5043 Assessment <strong>of</strong> Intellectual and<br />

Cognitive Abilities (FA) Training in the theory, administration<br />

and Clinical Diagnosis (FA) Guidelines for using standardized<br />
