This course facilitates the utilization of the nursing process to<br />
assist in meeting the needs of patients with common mental<br />
health problems. Focus is on the dynamics of human behavior<br />
ranging from normal to extreme. Emphasis is on the therapeutic<br />
use of self. Prerequisite: NUR 210.<br />

This course is an exploration of healthcare trends and issues.<br />
NUR 220 Family Centered Nursing (4-9-7)<br />
This course facilitates the application of the nursing process in<br />
the care of persons during the childbearing years and from birth<br />
through adolescence to promote optimal individual health and<br />
development at any stage of the health continuum.<br />

NUR 221 Advanced Nursing Concepts (2-9-5)<br />
This course expands the application of the nursing process in<br />
the care of persons throughout the life span who are experiencing<br />
complex health problems. It provides opportunity for students<br />
to assume management responsibilities in the delivery of nursing<br />
care within the health care system. Prerequisite: NUR 210.<br />

This course facilitates the development of competence to perform<br />
a physical assessment. Prerequisite: Instructor permission<br />

This course facilitates the development of competence to meet<br />

in transcribing legal documents from dictation equipment.<br />

OST 133 Professional Development (3-0-3)<br />
This course emphasizes development of personal and professional<br />
skills required of an office worker in areas such as projecting<br />
a professional image, job-seeking skills, office etiquette,<br />
ethics, and time and stress management.<br />
OST 137 Office Accounting (3-0-3)<br />
This course introduces the fundamentals of basic accounting<br />
principles and focuses on basic financial records of a typical<br />
office.<br />
OST 141 Office Procedures I (3-0-3)<br />
This is an introductory course to a variety of office procedures<br />
and tasks using business equipment, systems, and procedures.<br />

OST 165 Information Processing Software (3-0-3)<br />
This course includes applications of information processing software.<br />
Emphasis is placed on functions for acceptable document<br />
formatting and processing (MS Word). Prerequisite: OST 105.<br />

This course emphasizes applications and features of information<br />
processing software. This course also provides an in-depth<br />
study of graphical user interface by using Windows.<br />

This course emphasizes the production of documents found in<br />
typical business offices. The major focus is on productivity and<br />
excellence in document production. Prerequisite: OST 110.<br />
