INFORMATION<br />

Admissions<br />

have attended the school from which they are<br />

transferring a minimum of one term.<br />

2. Submit a certified English translation of secondary<br />

school records, including evidence of graduation.<br />

Official English-translated transcripts or<br />

mark sheets from any colleges or universities<br />

attended also must be submitted.<br />

3. Submit test results from the Test of English as a<br />

Foreign Language (TOEFL). A minimum total score<br />

of 500 and a score of at least 50 on each of the<br />

three sections are required. If the computerized<br />

version of the TOEFL is taken, a score of 173 is<br />

required. The TOEFL score report must be received<br />

from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).<br />

the ETS website at www.ets.org/toefl. <strong>Tri</strong>-<strong>County</strong>’s<br />

code number for submission of scores is 5789.<br />

An official report verifying successful completion<br />

of an English language institute or program within<br />

the United States can be used in lieu of the TOEFL.<br />

Students who transfer from other colleges or<br />

universities in the United States and have completed<br />

appropriate English courses with at least a<br />

grade of “C” may be exempt from the TOEFL requirement.<br />

4. Provide a certified bank statement indicating sufficient<br />

financial support (minimum of $15,000 per<br />

year) for all academic and living expenses for one<br />

year. A notarized affidavit of support from an<br />

American citizen claiming financial responsibility<br />

can be used in place of the bank statement.<br />

5. Pay a deposit of tuition and fees for two terms to<br />

the <strong>College</strong>’s Business Office. Tuition is subject to<br />

change without notice.<br />

website at www.ice.gov/graphics/sevis.<br />

ORIENTATION<br />

Prior to each semester, the <strong>College</strong> offers new student<br />

orientation to facilitate the transition of all students into<br />

their chosen academic programs. New student orientation<br />

is scheduled on multiple dates at a variety of times<br />

to accommodate as many students as possible. For more<br />

information, students should contact the Counseling<br />

Center at Ext. 1569.<br />

In addition, some departments offer orientation for students<br />

enrolled in their programs. Students will be notified<br />

of time/dates by the appropriate department.<br />

REGISTRATION<br />

Registration dates are listed on the Academic Calendar<br />

and printed on pages 8 and 9 of this <strong>Catalog</strong>. Prior to<br />

each term, students should complete the registration<br />

process as described in the Registration/Schedule<br />

Changes section on page 28 of this <strong>Catalog</strong>.<br />

Once the requirements for admission are met, the student<br />

will be issued an I-20 and an acceptance letter.<br />

Additional Requirements for International Students<br />

Before registering for classes, international students must:<br />

1. Take the <strong>College</strong> placement test. Students who<br />

transfer from other colleges or universities in the<br />

United States and have completed appropriate<br />

English courses with at least a grade of “C” may<br />

be exempt from taking the placement test.<br />

2. Make an appointment with the International<br />

Student Advisor in the Admissions Office to interpret<br />

placement test scores and to ensure all<br />

admission requirements are fulfilled.<br />

3. Show proof of a valid passport.<br />

International students must report any address, telephone<br />

number, or program changes to the International Student<br />

Advisor.<br />
