CPT 237 Advanced Java Programming (3-0-3)<br />
This course is a study of advanced topics of the Java programming<br />
language by building on a basic knowledge of the Java<br />
language. Topics covered will include multi-reading, swing<br />
classes, swing event models, advanced layout managers, the<br />
javabean component model, network programming and serverside<br />
programming.<br />
CPT 242 Database (3-0-3)<br />
This course introduces database models and the fundamentals<br />
of database design. Topics include database structure, database<br />
processing, and application programs which access a database.<br />
Prerequisites: CPT 111, CPT 270.<br />
CPT 244 Data Structures (3-0-3)<br />
This course examines data structures widely used in programming.<br />
Topics include linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, and<br />
sorting and searching techniques.<br />
CPT 248 UNIX Administration (3-0-3)<br />
This course is a study of UNIX system operating procedures,<br />
administration, and networking. Prerequisite: CPT 257.<br />
CPT 257 Operating Systems (3-0-3)<br />
This course examines the theory of operating systems and how<br />
the operating system theory is implemented in current operating<br />
systems. Prerequisites: CPT 111, CPT 114, CPT 170.<br />
CPT 264 Systems and Procedures (3-0-3)<br />
This course covers the techniques of system analysis, design,<br />
development, and implementation. Prerequisites: CPT 111,<br />
CPT 114, CPT 170.<br />
CPT 267 <strong>Technical</strong> Support Concepts (3-0-3)<br />
This course is a study of technical support/help desk concepts<br />
and techniques for supporting computers and computer services.<br />
Prerequisite: CPT 209.<br />
CPT 268 Computer End-User Support (3-0-3)<br />
This course prepares students to train and support end-users.<br />
Topics include end-user support functions, developing training<br />
modules, and strategies to provide ongoing technical support.<br />
Emphasis is on solving problems with users (needs<br />
analysis, troubleshooting, and interaction with users).<br />
Prerequisite: CPT 267.<br />
CPT 270 Advanced Microcomputer<br />
Applications (3-0-3)<br />
This course emphasizes the integration of popular microcomputer<br />
software packages using advanced concepts in microcomputer<br />
applications software. Some of the advanced features<br />
of Microsoft Office software will be applied to solve typical<br />
business problems. Prerequisite: CPT 170.<br />
CPT 275 CPT Senior Project (1-6-3)<br />
This course includes the design, development, testing, and<br />
implementation of an instructor approved project.<br />
Prerequisite: Requires department head approval.<br />
CPT 280 SCWE in Computer Technology I (0-12-3)<br />
This course integrates computer technology skills within an<br />
approved work site related to the computer industry.<br />
Prerequisite: Requires department head approval.<br />

This course integrates computer technology skills within an<br />
approved work site related to the computer industry.<br />

CPT 290 Microcomputer Multimedia Concepts and<br />
Applications (3-0-3)<br />
This course will cover introductory microcomputer multimedia<br />
concepts and applications. The course will utilize text,<br />
graphics, animation, sound, video, and various multimedia<br />
applications in the design, development, and creation of multimedia<br />
presentations. Prerequisite: CPT 270.<br />
CPT 293 Advanced Microcomputer Multimedia<br />
Applications (3-0-3)<br />
This course covers advanced topics for microcomputer multimedia<br />
development utilizing advanced techniques in the use<br />
of text, graphics, animation, sound, video, and compact disk.<br />
Script language programming and its use in the development<br />
of interactive multimedia presentations are included.<br />
Prerequisites: CPT 290, IST 225.<br />
