PROGRAM INFORMATION<br />
The textile industry is a broad based manufacturing<br />
sector that includes synthetic fiber and filament manufacturing,<br />
textile chemicals, geotextiles, non-wovens,<br />
medical textiles, rugs and carpet, garment making, as<br />
well as traditional textile yarn and fabric manufacturing.<br />
This degree is designed for students interested in acquiring<br />
the skills to become entry-level supervisors in the<br />
textile industry. Foundational studies include all aspects<br />
of the textile industry from fiber manufacturing to fabric.<br />
In addition to textile specific courses, students learn<br />
safety, supervision, budgeting, and many other transferable<br />
skills applicable to supervision in any industrial setting.<br />
The Textile Management Technology program offers an<br />
associate degree option and one certificate option.<br />
SCHEDULING AND ENTRY OPTIONS<br />
Day and evening classes are available. Although major<br />
courses start in the Fall Semester, students may enter<br />
any term. Full-time day students usually complete<br />
degree requirements in four terms. Students working<br />
swing shifts can have classes arranged around their work<br />
schedules. General Education course requirements can<br />
be completed at any time during the program. Courses<br />
can be completed in any order subject to the completion<br />
of course prerequisites.<br />
