Dr Pablos-Méndez received his MD from <strong>the</strong> University of<br />

Guadalajara’s School of Medicine (Mexico) <strong>and</strong> his MPH from<br />

Columbia University’s School of Public Health.<br />

Ramesh Shademani is a technical 0fficer in <strong>the</strong> Cluster of<br />

Information, Evidence <strong>and</strong> Research in <strong>the</strong> World Health<br />

Organization (WHO). She joined WHO seven years ago as a<br />

technical officer in <strong>the</strong> Department of Health <strong>and</strong> Development.<br />

Later, she worked as an edi<strong>to</strong>r for <strong>the</strong> Bulletin of <strong>the</strong> World Health<br />

Organization. She obtained her Master of Science in Epidemiology<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Laval University in Canada <strong>and</strong> worked as an<br />

environmental epidemiologist in Quebec prior <strong>to</strong> joining WHO.<br />
