Operations FOR THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS<br />

Shawn Tilger enters his tenth season with the <strong>Flyers</strong> and sixth as Senior<br />

Vice President of Business Operations. Tilger is responsible for the day-today<br />

management of all facets of the organization’s business operations.<br />

He oversees marketing, broadcasting, communications, finance, budgeting,<br />

community relations, fan development, ticket sales, game presentation,<br />

customer service, new <strong>media</strong>, publicity and merchandising functions. His<br />

responsibilities also include generating new revenue streams and leveraging<br />

partnerships for the <strong>Flyers</strong> and their parent company, Comcast-Spectacor.<br />

During his tenure with the <strong>Flyers</strong>, Tilger has been instrumental in creating<br />

an incomparable relationship between the city of <strong>Philadelphia</strong> and the team,<br />

which was recognized industry-wide in 2005 when The Sporting News named<br />

the city of <strong>Philadelphia</strong> the No. 1 hockey town in the United States.<br />

The <strong>Flyers</strong> have enjoyed tremendous growth on the business side of the<br />

organization and have been consistently ranked among the NHL’s leaders in<br />

sales, marketing, public relations and community efforts. The team has set numerous franchise attendance records<br />

several times over, including a new regular-season attendance record (837,754) in 2011-12 and a new single-season<br />

attendance record 1,020,699 – regular season plus playoffs in 2009-10.<br />

In 2006, the <strong>Flyers</strong> received the University of Massachusetts’ prestigious PRISM AWARD, recognizing the <strong>Flyers</strong>’<br />

excellence in sport franchise management and their continued dedication to growing the sport of hockey in the<br />

Greater <strong>Philadelphia</strong> Region.<br />

Tilger was a 2010 recipient of the Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal Forty under 40 Award, given each year<br />

to 40 of the top sports executives under the age of 40. The publication also previously recognized him as one of its<br />

“Five People to Know in Ticketing.”<br />

Entering his fifteenth year with Comcast-Spectacor, Tilger has more than seventeen years of marketing experience.<br />

He previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Director of Marketing for Comcast-Spectacor, overseeing<br />

marketing, public relations and sales of family events and concerts at the Wells Fargo Center and the Spectrum.<br />

Prior to joining Comcast-Spectacor, Tilger was the regional marketing manager for the Harlem Globetrotters, where<br />

he promoted the team’s appearances in 38 different markets throughout the United States.<br />

Currently, Tilger serves on the Board of Directors for Comcast-Spectacor Charities, the Claddaugh Fund and the St.<br />

Joseph’s University Advisory Board.<br />

A native of Beverly, New Jersey, Tilger received an M.A. in Sports Management from Springfield College and a<br />

B.A. in Government and Law from Lafayette College. Tilger, his wife, Erika, daughter, Ava, and son, Gavyn, reside<br />

in Moorestown, New Jersey.<br />
