<strong>Flyers</strong> Community Relations & Youth and Amateur Hockey<br />
<strong>Flyers</strong> Youth Hockey Shootout<br />
The <strong>Flyers</strong> Youth Hockey Shootout gives young players a chance to show off their skills in a competitive and<br />
fun event. The competition is open to children under the age of 14, and takes place during intermission of<br />
a <strong>Flyers</strong> home game. Players compete in a penalty shootout with the winning team advancing in the round<br />
robin competition. Interested organizations are entered into a pool, and eight teams from the Squirt, Pee<br />
Wee, and Bantam categories are randomly selected to participate throughout the season.<br />
Mites on Ice<br />
Mites on Ice is an opportunity for local hockey<br />
players in the Mite and Squirt age bracket to<br />
participate in an on-ice scrimmage during<br />
intermission of a <strong>Flyers</strong> home game. The program<br />
allows children from various club and in-house<br />
leagues throughout the Delaware Valley to play<br />
in front of a capacity crowd. For most children,<br />
this is their first time feeling the thrill of skating<br />
on the same ice as their favorite team. They get to<br />
experience the same things their favorite players<br />
experience each time they take the ice at the Wells<br />
Fargo Center. All participants receive a free <strong>Flyers</strong><br />
jersey, and unforgettable memories.<br />

<strong>Flyers</strong> Pre-and-Post Hockey Games<br />
The <strong>Philadelphia</strong> <strong>Flyers</strong> are now offering a chance for local teams to participate in a hockey game<br />
before of after select <strong>Flyers</strong> home games at the Wells Fargo Center. Just by purchasing group tickets<br />
to <strong>Flyers</strong> home games, teams will have an opportunity to play on the same ice as their <strong>Flyers</strong>’ heroes.<br />

PA State High School Championship<br />
The <strong>Flyers</strong> Youth and Amateur Hockey Department<br />
acts as the area coordinator for the Pennsylvania State<br />
High School Championships. The three game event<br />
takes place in the early spring, im<strong>media</strong>tely following<br />
the <strong>Flyers</strong> Cup Scholastic Championships. It rotates<br />
annually between <strong>Philadelphia</strong> and Pittsburgh, with the<br />
2012 Championship to be held in the Pittsburgh area.<br />
