As in most behavioral change studies,
another limitation was that the
behavioral changes were self-reported.
Objective biological measures of
nutrition and bone health were beyond
the scope of this study but would be
important for future study. Future
studies are needed to determine the
long-term effect of educational
interventions and behavioral changes
on osteoporosis, bone mass, and
incidence of bone fractures in older
adults. Based on the limitations of this
study, interpretation of the findings
should not be applied to all Older
Americans Nutrition Program
participants, but can be used in
planning, implementing, and
evaluating similar future studies.
