Sipsey Fork (0316-0110)<br />

Sub-<strong>Water</strong>shed: Sipsey Fork NRCS Sub-<strong>Water</strong>shed Number 010<br />

Landuse: The Sipsey Fork sub-watershed drains approximately 130 mi 2 in Lawrence,<br />

Winston, and Franklin Counties. Percent land cover was estimated to be 94% forest and<br />

primarily contained within the Bankhead National Forest. No current construction/<br />

stormwater authorizations or NPDES permits have been issued in the sub-watershed<br />

(Appendix B). Upper Sipsey Fork is designated as an Outstanding National Resource<br />

<strong>Water</strong> (ADEM 2003e). It is also <strong>Alabama</strong>’s only <strong>of</strong>icialy designated “Wild and Scenic”<br />

River.<br />
