Appendix T. ALAMAP (<strong>Alabama</strong> Monitoring and Assessment Program)<br />

Lead agencies: ADEM and USEPA<br />

Purpose: ADEM’s ALAMAP Program is made up <strong>of</strong> two separate components that<br />

monitor <strong>Alabama</strong>’s coastal and upland waters. The Upland ALAMAP (ALAMAP-U)<br />

Program is a statewide monitoring effort to provide data that can be used to estimate the<br />

current status <strong>of</strong> all wadeable streams within <strong>Alabama</strong>. Evaluated assessment data,<br />

including chemical, physical, and habitat parameters are collected once at 250 stations,<br />

randomly selected by USEPA-Gulf Breeze over a 5-year period using ADEM’s SOPs and<br />

QA/QC manuals.<br />
