Sub-<strong>Water</strong>shed: Crooked Creek NRCS Sub-<strong>Water</strong>shed Number 090<br />

Landuse: The Crooked Creek sub-watershed drains approximately 58 mi 2 in Cullman<br />

County. Forest and pasture land were the dominant land cover types within the subwatershed.<br />

One construction/stormwater authorization, one semi-public/private NPDES<br />

permit, and 2 CAFO registrations have been issued in the sub-watershed (Appendix B). A<br />

28.0 mile segment <strong>of</strong> Crooked Creek is impaired by ammonia, pathogens and organic<br />

enrichment/dissolved oxygen from intensive animal feeding operations and pasture grazing<br />

(Appendix C-1). ADEM’s TMDLs for these polutants have been approved by EPA.<br />

Implementation <strong>of</strong> these TMDLs is pending.<br />
