1.1.5. Southwest San Diego <strong>Recovery</strong> Unit: protect and manage as much<br />

within and between the six habitat complexes (Figure 2) as possible.<br />
1.1.5.1. San Diego National Wildlife Refuge habitat complex:<br />
Protect and manage landscape connectivity through Proctor<br />
Valley between the habitats in San Diego National Wildlife<br />
Refuge and the Otay Lakes area.<br />
1.1.5.2. Otay Lakes habitat complex: Protect and manage as<br />
much remaining undeveloped suitable and restorable habitat that<br />
is part <strong>of</strong> the known historic population distribution (Figure 2), as<br />
possible, in a configuration designed to support a stable<br />
population. Enhance landscape connectivity along the western<br />
and eastern margins <strong>of</strong> Otay Lake.<br />
1.1.5.3. Otay Mesa habitat complex: Protect and manage mesa<br />
areas contiguous with the Otay River Valley. Enhance landscape<br />
connectivity between the north rim (above the Otay River) and<br />
western mesa top <strong>of</strong> Otay Mesa.<br />
1.1.5.4. Otay Mountain Foothills habitat complex: protect and<br />
manage as much remaining suitable and restorable habitat that is<br />
part <strong>of</strong> the known population distribution.<br />
1.1.5.5. Marron habitat complex: protect and manage, in<br />
cooperation with public land owners, as much remaining suitable<br />
and restorable habitat that is part <strong>of</strong> the known population<br />
distribution.<br />
1.1.5.6. Tecate: protect and manage as much remaining suitable<br />
and restorable habitat that is part <strong>of</strong> the known population<br />
distribution.<br />
1.1.6. Southeast San Diego <strong>Recovery</strong> Unit: protect and manage as much<br />
remaining undeveloped suitable and restorable linked habitat patches in<br />
the vicinity <strong>of</strong> Jacumba Peak and Table Mountain (Figure 2) as possible<br />
(Jacumba habitat complex).<br />
1.2. Restore habitat patches and enhance landscape connectivity within and<br />
between the distribution <strong>of</strong> the habitat complexes.<br />
