RULE 7 / OUT OF BOUNDS <strong>AND</strong> THE THROW-IN<br />

(Women) After a single flagrant 2 technical, an administrative technical foul<br />

an excessive timeout, and a contact dead ball technical, play shall resume at<br />

the point of interruption by awarding the ball to the offended team.]<br />

Art. 8. After any double personal or technical fouls or any simultaneous personal<br />

or technical fouls when there is team control, play shall resume at the point of<br />

interruption unless only one of the fouls is a flagrant foul in which case, play<br />

shall be resumed with a throw-in to the offended team at the (men) division line<br />

for a single contact dead ball technical foul, single flagrant 2 technical foul and<br />

(women) point of interruption for a single contact dead ball technical foul, an<br />

administrative technical foul for an excessive timeout, and a single flagrant 2<br />

technical foul.<br />

Art. 9. After any double personal or technical fouls or any simultaneous personal<br />

or technical fouls committed when there is no team control, play shall resume at<br />

the point of interruption (Exception: Rule 7-5.10 and 10- 1 Penalty f)<br />

Art. 10. After any double personal or technical fouls or any simultaneous<br />

personal or technical fouls, unless only one of the fouls is a flagrant foul and is<br />

committed while the try is in flight, play shall resume as follows:<br />

a. When the try is successful, the ball is awarded to the offended team<br />

(women) at the end line or (men) at the division line for a single contact<br />

dead ball technical foul or a single flagrant 2 technical foul.<br />

b. When the try is unsuccessful, the ball is awarded to the offended team<br />

at (women) a designated spot nearest to where the try was unsuccessful or<br />

(men) at the division line for a single contact dead ball technical foul or a<br />

single flagrant 2 technical foul.<br />

Art. 11. After a flagrant 1 or 2 personal foul, a player of the team to which the<br />

throw-in has been awarded shall make the throw-in from a designated spot<br />

nearest to where the foul occurred. (See Rule 7-5.6.a.2.)<br />

Art. <strong>12</strong>. (Men) After a flagrant 2 technical foul or a single contact dead ball<br />

technical foul, any team member of the offended team may attempt the free<br />

throws, and the ball shall be put back in play by any player of that team from a<br />

designated spot at the division line at either side of the playing court.<br />

Art. <strong>13</strong>. After the administration of the penalty for a personal foul or a technical<br />

foul, the penalty for a single flagrant 2 technical foul, a single contact dead ball<br />

technical foul, or (women) an administrative technical foul for an excessive<br />

timeout shall be administered. The ball shall be put back into play by a player of<br />

the offended team at a designated spot at (men) the division line at either side of<br />

the playing court or (women) the point of interruption.<br />

Art. 14. After the administration of a technical foul, the penalty for a subsequent<br />

technical foul shall be administered. The ball shall be put back into play at<br />

the point of interruption, which is where the first technical foul was assessed.<br />

[Exceptions: A single flagrant 2 technical foul before the start of the game or<br />

extra period, play shall resume by awarding the ball to the offended team at a<br />

designated spot at the division line on either side of the playing court. (Men)<br />

After a single flagrant 2 technical foul and a single contact dead ball technical<br />

foul. (Women) After a single flagrant 2 technical foul, a single contact dead ball<br />

technical foul, or an administrative technical foul for an excessive timeout].
