SIRIUS 3RW44 soft starter for High Feature applications<br />

Drive technology<br />

With its high-end functionality, the SIRIUS<br />

3RW44 all-rounder handles even complex<br />

ramp-up and ramp-down operations easily<br />

and, above all, smoothly. Thanks to innovative<br />

torque control, the device can be used<br />

for drives up to 710 kW (at 400 V) with inline<br />

circuits or up to 1200 kW (at 400 V) with<br />

inside-delta circuits. The functions have<br />

been specially designed to offer maximum<br />

user friendliness.<br />

• Its compact design means that it saves space and is easy to operate in<br />

the control cabinet<br />

• SIRIUS 3RW44 is a cost-effective alternative to a frequency converter<br />

when it comes to starting/stopping motors without speed control<br />

• Torque control and variable current limitation for challenging starting<br />

conditions<br />

• The prevention of torque surges and current peaks when motors are<br />

started/stopped helps minimize the cost of dimensioning the switchgear<br />

and maintaining the machines<br />

• Whether you are using an in-line or inside-delta circuit, SIRIUS 3RW44<br />

can help you save space and cut costs<br />

• Commissioning is quick and effortless thanks to ergonomic,<br />

state-of-the-art user prompting and a menu-assisted, multi-row<br />

graphical display *)<br />

• An integrated jumper contact system minimizes the thermal power<br />

loss of the soft starter during operation, thereby ensuring that the<br />

area around the switchgear is not subject to excessive warming<br />

• SIRIUS 3RW44 is equipped with integrated device overload protection,<br />

which ensures that the thyristors in the power unit are not subject to<br />

thermal overload (e.g. due to an excessive number of closing operations)<br />

• No wiring needs to be carried out to install an additional motor overload<br />

relay – SIRIUS 3RW44 takes care of this too<br />

• Variable current limitation reliably prevents inrush peaks<br />

• The 3RW44 can be integrated into the overlying control level using<br />

the optional PROFIBUS DP communication module - this means that<br />

parameterization, processing of measured values and operating values<br />

as well as control of the soft starter are all possible over PROFIBUS<br />

The optional Soft Starter ES parameterization and evaluation software is available<br />
