With SINUMERIK, <strong>Siemens</strong> offers an integrated<br />
system platform for the automation<br />
of machine tools for different sectors and<br />
technologies.<br />
SINUMERIK is based on the following concept:<br />
One CNC system, many possibilities –<br />
from the computerized numerical control<br />
through drives and motors as far as the complete<br />
control cabinet.<br />
SINUMERIK is easy to operate and it offers a number of innovative functions<br />
and technology cycles for even more economic production. The<br />
programming method also always meets your specific requirements,<br />
regardless of whether the production involves small or large series production,<br />
or simple or complex components.<br />
Together with the SINAMICS S120 drive system, the SINUMERIK system<br />
platform encompasses different versions for a wide variety of requirements<br />
in the equipping of machine tools:<br />
the SINUMERIK 802D sl for standard turning and milling machines, the<br />
compact SINUMERIK 828D and the innovative SINUMERIK 840D sl CNC<br />
for demanding solutions.<br />

The SINUMERIK 802D sl is an operator panel<br />
control combining all the components of a<br />
CNC (NC, PLC, HMI) and drive control in a<br />
single unit. The motors can be easily connected<br />
to the digital drives via DRIVE-CLiQ.<br />
In combination with the modular structure<br />
of the SINAMICS S120 drive system, this<br />
design is conceived to ensure very simple<br />
and rugged installation with minimum wiring<br />
overhead. The performance range of the control is ideally suited to<br />
applications on standardized machine tools - from one-off production<br />
runs to industrial scale manufacture.<br />
