Entrance Requirements<br />
Academic Requirements:<br />
• Credit in English 30-1 or 60% in English 30-2<br />
• Credit in Math 10 or Math 10-3<br />
Equivalent Math or English courses will also be<br />
considered.<br />
Other Requirements:<br />
• Fluency in English<br />

Program Description<br />
The Office Administration program trains students in a<br />
variety of computer applications and human relations<br />
skills designed to meet the needs of today’s office. Students<br />
in the program will learn keyboarding, word processing,<br />
database, spreadsheets, accounting practices, office<br />
procedures, interpersonal communications, and business<br />
communications. Students are given opportunities for<br />
professional development, are introduced to job search<br />
skills and will complete a four week practicum in an<br />
office setting. The Office Administration program is<br />
offered during the day or in the evening on a full-time or<br />
part-time basis.<br />
Employment Opportunities<br />
The skills developed by the Office Administration program<br />
are in demand by offices throughout our region. Graduates<br />
have gained employment in small businesses, educational<br />
institutions, health complexes, government offices and the<br />
offices of large industries.<br />
Note: Applicants without the academic requirements will<br />
be considered if they:<br />
• satisfactorily complete a Skills Appraisal Assessment, or<br />
• have completed a General Educational Development<br />
GED) Diploma, or<br />
• have met the provisional student requirements,<br />
• applicants without the prerequisites may enroll in<br />
individual courses as an unclassified student, if given<br />
department approval.<br />
Provisional Student Requirements:<br />
Successful completion of 3 courses from the program, one<br />
of which must be Accounting. The other two courses can<br />
be any of the following: Business Communications, Office<br />
Procedures 1, Interpersonal Communications, or Word<br />
Processing 1.<br />

Further Education & Training Options<br />
Graduates may choose to continue working toward an<br />
Office Administration diploma program offered at other<br />
Alberta colleges or online with eCampus Alberta. Some<br />
courses also transfer into the Business Administration<br />
Program.<br />
The program is delivered live and online with an instructor<br />
with support. Students are expected to travel to a central<br />
campus for lab days once per term. For description of modes<br />
