Mathematics 30-1<br />
Students will study trigonometry, relations & functions, and permutations,<br />
combinations & binomial theorem.<br />

Mathematics 30-2<br />
Students will study logical reasoning, probability, relations & functions<br />
and complete a mathematics research project.<br />

Mathematics 30-3<br />
Students continue to develop the mathematical understandings and<br />
critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades<br />
and for direct entry into the work force. Topics included in this<br />
course include algebra, geometry, measurement, numbers, statistics<br />
and probability.<br />

Business Statistics<br />
Business Statistics is an introductory course designed to give students<br />
a working knowledge and understanding of descriptive and inferential<br />
statistics. Topics covered include uses and misuses of statistics,<br />
methods of sampling, collection and presenting data, measures of<br />
average and variation, probability theory and distributions, sampling<br />
distributions of means and proportions, confidence intervals, tests of<br />
hypotheses (large and small sample methods), analysis of variance,<br />
contingency tables, correlations and regression analysis, multiple regression,<br />
time series analysis, and forecasting techniques. Emphasis<br />
is placed on practical business applications. This course has a lab<br />
component.<br />
MATH0190 (3 credits)<br />
Pre-Health Careers Math<br />
Pre-Health Careers Math reviews and reinforces the math skills required<br />
to succeed in health career programs. Topics such as using<br />
mathematical formulas and symbols, dealing with fractions and percentages,<br />
calculating proportions and ratios, using the metric system,<br />
and solving word problems will be covered.<br />
Pre-requisite: Any grade 10 math<br />
MEDT0110 (2 credits)<br />
Medical Terminology<br />
This is an introductory medical terminology course. It is designed to<br />
allow learners the opportunity to acquire a working knowledge of the<br />
language used by health care professionals. The goal of this medical<br />
terminology course is to provide the student with basic concepts of<br />
medical word building that will be applied to building an extensive<br />
medical vocabulary.<br />
MGMT0100 (4 credits)<br />
Business Employment Practicum<br />
This is a four week work experience practicum aimed at giving students<br />
exposure to a work setting and to develop the skills they learned<br />
during the program. This is an optional course.<br />

MGMT1050 (3 credits)<br />
Business Law<br />
The course covers practical law practices, as they relate to business<br />
operations. The legal aspects of contracts, negotiable instruments,<br />
estates and trusts, real and personal property, partnerships, and corporations<br />
are explored.<br />
MGMT1110 (3 credits)<br />
Business Math<br />
The purpose of this course is to increase students’ knowledge and<br />
skill in solving practical business mathematical problems. This will<br />
include a review of equation solving. The majority of the course will<br />
cover depreciation calculations, break-even analysis, simple and compound<br />
interest as applied to return on investments and annuities.<br />
MGMT1212 (3 credits)<br />
Entrepreneurship<br />
This course covers opportunity identification and assessment, identification<br />
of resources and capabilities of participants, marketing,<br />
management and finances of the new business.<br />
MGMT1214 (3 credits)<br />
Accounting Software<br />
Using computerized software, the students will perform a variety of<br />
accounting functions, ranging from simple manual ledger systems<br />
through to completely integrated accounting systems.<br />
Pre-requisites: ACCT 1110 & COMP 1010<br />
MGMT1220 (3 credits)<br />
Organizational Behaviour<br />
This course covers the traditional and contemporary theories of organizational<br />
behaviour both through cognitive and experiential approaches.<br />
Students’ increased awareness will translate into better decision<br />
making, more effective communication, better understanding of<br />
leadership, and increased awareness of individual and group processes.<br />
MGMT1310 (3 credits)<br />
Marketing<br />
This course covers the nature and scope of marketing in the economy,<br />
marketing research, consumer motivation, behaviour and buying<br />
patterns, the industrial market, product planning and development,<br />
the distribution channels, the price system, personal selling and advertising.<br />
