When asked if employees would consider taking a list <strong>of</strong> alternative transportation modes (Figure 3.10), 30 percent<br />
<strong>of</strong> respondents indicated they would be interested in using public transportation, with carpooling and biking<br />
following with 20 percent and 17 percent <strong>of</strong> respondents respectively. Forty-three percent <strong>of</strong> respondents indicated<br />
that they had no interest in converting to an alternative mode <strong>of</strong> transportation.<br />
Despite some employees’ interest in public transit, only 40 percent <strong>of</strong> respondents indicated that there was a transit<br />
route available which they could take to and from work (Figure 3.11). This suggests that <strong>Daly</strong> <strong>City</strong> could reduce<br />
emissions from commutes by working collaboratively with (BART, Caltrain, SamTrans, VTA) to provide better<br />
service for employees. Respondents also indicated that they would be more encouraged to take public transit if (see<br />
Figure 3.12) <strong>Daly</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong>fered a commuter shuttle (26 percent), improved transit options (24 percent), and<br />
subsidized public transit (22 percent).<br />
