Group finance, investor relations, auditing, legal affairs, product<br />

safety and sustainability (CSR) and personnel. The staff of all corporate<br />

center functions work closely with the two divisions.<br />

Other supporting functions such as information technology and<br />

corporate communication are either outsourced to external service<br />

providers or bundled in separate Group companies that have<br />

full responsibility for their results and access to third-party clients.<br />

The latter applies to the areas of technology, energy, safety, environmental<br />

issues and logistics.<br />

The Scent & Care and Flavor & Nutrition divisions have responsibility<br />

for and control of their operating business and its<br />

processes. As “companies within a company,” they have their own<br />

research and development, purchasing, production and quality<br />

control as well as marketing and sales. This approach guarantees<br />

that the divisions have comprehensive control of their business<br />

and business processes, and it speeds up handling of internal<br />

processes.<br />
