Family Geocaching
(ages 8 and up, with adult)
Explore your local parks in a whole new way. Geocaching
is a world-wide game of hiding and seeking treasure
all while exploring what the outdoors has to offer. We
will be using GPS (global positioning system) devices
which receive signals from satellites with directions to
hidden treasures. GPS units will be supplied, but feel
free to bring your own. Be prepared for a two-hour hike
with proper clothing, footwear, water and snacks. Feel
free to bring some trinkets to trade in the geocaches
we find.

Family Halloween Camping
(ages 5 and up, families, with adult)
Join us for two fun-filled family days of camping and
Halloween activities at the Nomoco Activity Area of
Turkey Swamp Park, Freehold. Camp set-up, pumpkin
carving, Halloween games, and more will keep you
busy while learning safe camping skills. Each family will
be provided with a platform tent, dinner for Saturday
night and breakfast for Sunday morning. Additional
camping equipment can be provided upon request. For
3-6 persons per family.

Grandparents Hike
(ages 8 and up, under 18 with adult)
Share the gift of the outdoors while enjoying a hike with
your grandchild. Enjoy the views of the Shrewsbury and
Navesink Rivers from the highest point in Monmouth
County as we pass abandoned fortifications from WWII.
After our hike we’ll enjoy refreshments. Hiking or trail
shoes recommended.

Thompson Park Paper Turkey Target Hunt
(ages 9 and up, under 18 with adult)
Spend the day outdoors searching for the perfect
turkey for your holiday feast. Our turkey targets are not
edible but, your family will enjoy using our hand held
GPS units to locate them. After all of your turkeys have
been found. Your family will work on their aim as you
use our compound and re-curved bows to shoot the
paper turkey targets at our archery range. No turkeys
are harmed during this event.
