moon rises, many nocturnal animals come out to start
their “day.” How many will we see and hear Is that a
bullfrog croaking Did a Great Horned Owl fly silently

Horseshoe Crab Story Hour
(ages 5-7, with adult)
What do you imagine when you think of a prehistoric
creature Have you ever seen a horseshoe crab
Discover the amazing world of horseshoe crabs;
crustaceans descended from the ancient Trilobite (an
extinct arthropod from long ago) and one of the best
known “living fossils.” Horseshoe crabs are part of our
local landscape and objects of fascination for children
and grandchildren. John a Park System Naturalist as we
read a theme-related story and picture book based on
the fun facts and stories of the Horseshoe Crab.

them to a new park. Create a special animal craft after
each show.
