Perrineville Lake Park<br />
143 Baird Road, Millstone<br />
If you’re in search of peace and quiet, this 897-acre<br />
site will suit your fancy. Anglers can drop their line (NJ<br />
State fishing license required for those 16 and over) in<br />
the lake for bass or catfish. Visitors may also enjoy a<br />
relaxing day on the water by launching a canoe, kayak,<br />
or electric powered motor boat. Two multi-use trails<br />
area available for bicyclists, hikers, and equestrians to<br />
enjoy nature and the surrounding beauty of this site.<br />
Historic Walnford<br />
62 Walnford Road, Upper Freehold<br />
Nestled within the beauty of Crosswicks Creek<br />
Greenway, this 36-acre historic site is a treasure. Visitors<br />
love to step back in time touring the elegant home<br />
built in 1774, 19th century gristmill, and farm buildings.<br />
The site features weekend events and demonstrations<br />
like Walnford Day and Wood You, Could You (full list of<br />
fall events on page 49). Historic exhibits are often on<br />
display like the current Quilts from the Historic Walnford<br />
Collection viewable now through February 15, 2014.<br />
Weltz Park<br />

Ready to enjoy the natural beauty that <strong>Monmouth</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
has to offer Enjoy a calming walk through this undeveloped<br />
165-acre park where you’re sure to find singing birds and<br />
fluttering butterflies. Don’t forget the binoculars!<br />
PARK SYSTEM SPOTLIGHT<br />
Sunnyside Recreation Area<br />
628 Middletown-Lincroft Road, Lincroft<br />
Home to the Park System’s Equestrian Division,<br />
Sunnyside provides equestrian experiences for people<br />
of all abilities with an emphasis on the benefits of<br />
therapeutic horseback riding for those with physical<br />
and cognitive disabilities. The therapeutic equestrian<br />
program operates with the financial support of Special<br />
People United to Ride (SPUR; www.spuronline.org). This<br />
location is not only popular for stopping by to view the<br />
horses, but also for its short paved trail frequented by<br />
runners and bicyclists.<br />
Wolf Hill Recreation Area<br />
3 Crescent Place, Oceanport<br />
With 92 open acres, this site is often used for a quiet<br />
walk or for its reservation only softball fields. But Wolf<br />
Hill is also the location of the Park System’s second<br />
off-leash dog area (the first located at Thompson Park,<br />
Lincroft). Boasting 4 acres of open space to allow dogs<br />
run and play together, the site combines an area for<br />
dogs of all sizes as well as another for those weighing<br />
35 lbs. or less. Visitors are reminded to bring water for<br />
themselves and their dogs as there is none available on<br />
