NOTES:
CAUSTIC AND OTHERWISE.
IT is, we believe, an unfounded rumour that
our Quartermaster has been offered the
Presidency of the Royal Horticultural Society.
He is, we are told, a la Mark Twain, busy
weeding ont the flower beds. Or is it flowering
out the weed beds
Now we have a new master-cook on probation
we are thinking of amending the old
proverb. In future, the proof of the pudding
will be the Raee in it.
We have been going to Malta for a long
time. We should be nearly there by now.
We are of the opinion, however, that this
"move," like many others, emanated from
the stars and stripes.
But Boyce will be boys.
It is noted with enthusiasm that our Sergt-.
Major is privileged to remain with the colours
until 1915. He leaves the service exactly
one hundred years after Napoleon.
Napoleon should feel honoured.
The camp field is improving.
The cricket
pitch is more like one than ever.
Being a W.D. Store, grass should not be
allowed to grow round the Q.-)L Store.
Defaulters, please note .
Owing to pressure of work the Band were
unable to accept the engagement offered by
" A" Company. But there-playing outside
dining halls would become a little tedious.
Great consternation is felt at Drury Lane
owing to the death of the Battalion Dramatic
Society.
