6 HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY CHRONICLE. FOOTBALL MATCH. 4TH H.L.I. V. BELHAVEN JUNIORS. The above game took place at Hamilton on Christmas Day, but owing to several of our team being on furlough, we were unable to place our best men in the field. The first half produced some good football, although the state of the ground was anything but in a condition for accurate play .. The visitors scored first, which was closely followed by the equaliser from our inside right. Play in the second half was of jt very fast and exciting nature, but our forwards could not find the net again, and the visitors won comfortably by 3 to 1. After the match, the visiting team were entertained to tea in the Soldiers's Home, where a very enjoyable evening was spent. Speeches were made by both captains, and the Belhaven skipper in his remarks thanked the home team for such an enjoyable time, and hoped that another vacant date would see the same teams lined up again. Anyone v.ishing to subscribe for the space of one year can do so by sending one shilling and sixpence by postal order or penny stamps to the Editor. The numbers will then be sent POllt free quarterly as issued. Th~ arrival of the paper will be the receipt. Annual volumes, consisting of the four quarterly numbers, bound together in a paper cover, can be obtained, post free, for one shilling and seven pence. Contributions in manuscript should be legibly written on one side of the paper only, and should be accompanied b:y: the nanle and address of the sender, which will or WIll not be published, as may be desired. It is particularly requested that names generallythose of persons, places, etc.-and all words not English, should be written with special care, as otherwise they are difficult to decipher.
