<strong>June</strong> 7 – 10, 2011, Baruch College/CUNY, New York, NY, USA<br />
Tom Hajduk is a Professor of Management <strong>Communication</strong> and Entrepreneurship at Georgetown<br />
University’s McDonough School of Business. His expertise is on rhetoric, visual communication, business<br />
communications, high-stakes presentations and communication technology. His research focuses on<br />
incorporating behavioral, social, rhetorical and learning theories in the design of technology and tools for<br />
structuring communication tasks and cooperative communication efforts in business. He has worked as a<br />
consultant for Alcoa, Boeing, Cognizant, Medrad, Merrill Lynch, Lockheed, the U.S. Department of<br />
Defense Missile Defense Agency, and over 50 start-up ventures. Hajduk received a Ph.D. in rhetoric and an<br />
M.A. in rhetoric, both from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in communication from the University<br />
of Pittsburgh. He serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Business <strong>Communication</strong>, Educational<br />
Review for Business <strong>Communication</strong> and the Journal of Business and Technical <strong>Communication</strong>. He was a<br />
member of the Board of Directors for the Association for Processional <strong>Communication</strong> Consultants from<br />
2006-2008. He was appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania to the Board of Trustees at the University<br />
of Pittsburgh, where he served from 1980 – 1988.<br />
Ylva Hellberg graduated from the University of Aarhus with an MA in <strong>Corporate</strong> <strong>Communication</strong>.<br />
Benjamin Meng Keng Ho, a senior at Wee Kim Wee School of <strong>Communication</strong> and Information,<br />
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is a communications major specializing in communications<br />
research. His academic interests include cross-cultural communication, corporate communication strategies<br />
and crisis communication. Benjamin spent two semesters abroad on academic exchange and professional<br />
internship at South Korea's Pusan National University and China's Time Out Beijing, a magazine<br />
publication, respectively. The breadth of academic training and professional exposure in the journalistic,<br />
advertising, public relations and research fields, across diverse geographies, cultures and languages, has<br />
accorded him a holistic preparation for a career in the media relations field. Benjamin is also the proud<br />
recipient of the Tan Cheng Siong Scholarship for Financial Journalism and holds executive positions in<br />
several volunteering groups in his community. After graduation, he plans on working for multinational<br />
companies providing cross-cultural corporate communication and media relations expertise.<br />
Peter M. Horowitz is Lecturer in <strong>Communication</strong>s Studies at Baruch College, City University of New<br />
York, where he also serves on the admissions committee for the M.A. Program in <strong>Corporate</strong><br />
<strong>Communication</strong>. Prior to joining the full-time faculty at Baruch in 2010, Peter was Adjunct Professor of<br />
<strong>Corporate</strong> <strong>Communication</strong> there, as well as Chief Marketing Officer at Shearman & Sterling LLP.<br />
Horowitz has thirty years of experience leading the marketing and communications functions of<br />
professional firms, including Coopers and Lybrand, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Morrison & Foerster, Deloitte<br />
Consulting, Price Waterhouse, and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has spoken and written on such topics as<br />
crisis communications, law firm marketing, brand management and corporate reputation. He has been a<br />
featured speaker at conferences sponsored by the American Marketing Association, The Conference Board,<br />
The Arthur Page Society, the Public Relations Society of America, the University of Georgia, Fairleigh<br />
Dickinson University and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants among others. He holds<br />
degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of St. Andrews. He is a Fellow of the<br />
Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA).<br />
Brian Householder is currently an Assistant Professor at Baruch College/City University of New York.<br />
With 20 years of teaching experience in communication, Dr. Householder is the former Director of Speech<br />
<strong>Communication</strong> at Baruch College. Prior to joining the Baruch College faculty, he served as Graduate<br />
Director at the University of North Dakota, Co-Director of Forensics at Monte Vista H.S. in California,<br />
Speech and Debate Coach at Humboldt State University and as a staff member at the Stanford National<br />
Forensic Institute. Moreover, he has published various articles and book chapters on persuasion,<br />
extemporaneous speaking, interpersonal communication and occasionally does consulting for various<br />
companies. He received his Ph.D. from The University of Georgia (USA).<br />
Roger Hutt has served on the Arizona State University faculty since 1975 pursuing teaching and research<br />
interests in organizational management and leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation, and strategic<br />
management. While studying issues related to stakeholder management, he developed an interest in<br />
corporate communication as a strategic management function and expects to continue researching in that<br />
area. He has consulted with and advised business owners and managers, is the author and co-author of<br />
