Funding-
The second track seeks to address the funding needs for acquisition of a new system and the
associated costs of migration, implementation, and hardware. These costs were first projected
for budgetary purposes early in 2006. A budget request, of $10,000,000 over two years, was
included as a capital request for the 2007-2009 biennium budget. The colleges have since
identified and set aside, with the approval of the Board, $1,500,000 in cash funds to be used to
assist with the project.
With the approval of the Board, I anticipate that an updated request for funding will be presented
by the system as a deficit request for fiscal year 2008-2009. The actual request will be
developed from information currently available from proposals received in the vendor selection
process described above. The initial deficit request will be based on the best information at the
time of submission and will continue to be refined as the vendor selection process moves
forward.
