ITEMS FOR INFORMATION AND DISCUSSION
Academic, Personnel and Student Affairs
Changes to Update Policies 4160, 4170 & 4180
Board Policies 4160, 4170 and 4180; Degree Programs; Chadron State, Peru State and Wayne State
respectively were updated to reflect recent Board action relating to academic programs. (A copy of
the updated policies is attached to the official minutes.)
CAAP Report – PSC
Peru State provided a report on the Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) program
used to assess, evaluate and enhance the outcomes of their general education programs.
Faculty College
A report on the May 10-11, 2007 NSCS Faculty College held at Wayne State was provided. Fortyeight
faculty members from across the system attended and discussed on-line instruction,
assessment, service learning and international study. Peru State will host the 2008 NSCS Faculty
College.
Enrollment and Marketing
State of the System Address
Chancellor Carpenter will deliver the State of the System Address at Wayne August 17 at 9:30 a.m. ;
at Peru August 23 at 11:00 a.m. and Chadron’s date is yet to be determined.
Enrollment and Marketing Visits
Sheri Irwin-Gish will be visiting each of the colleges this summer to meet with several individuals about
enrollment and marketing issues. She will visit Chadron June 25-26, Peru in early July and Wayne in
late July or early August.
Review of Carnegie Marketing Plans
Carnegie Communications developed marketing plans for each college in 2004. The Enrollment and
Marketing Committee will be reviewing those plans and discussing what has been done and what
changes need to be made.
Review of Counseling Excellence Award
The Council of Admissions and College Relations Officers discussed the Counseling Excellence
Award selection process. Nomination forms will be distributed to students during the orientations held
in the fall.
Joint Admissions Program
The joint admissions form was discussed and needs to be finalized in the near future.
