Chadron State Contracts • Administration Building – (professional services – window replacement) - $28,000 • Heat Plant – (access stairs to tunnel) - $9,000 • Kent Hall – (chiller tie-in) - $22,199 • Kline Building – (piping from central chilled water system to plate exchanger) - $18,559 • Memorial Hall – (professional design services – roof repair) - $34,150 • Memorial Hall – (professional design services – chiller tie-in) - $13,850 Peru State Contracts • T.J. Chadron State Application • Comprehensively Promoting Well-Being through Mexican Family Advocacy: A Pilot Immigrant/Refugee Neighborhood Project (Robert Wood Johnson) - $300,000 16
6/7/07 Board Meeting Minutes MISCELLANEOUS ACTION AND INFORMATION ITEMS Chancellor’s Report Chancellor Carpenter noted that Larry Schulz was not at the meeting because he had taken some much needed vacation time. Everyone wished him well on his retirement. Chancellor Carpenter further noted that Larry would be serving as a consultant for four months after his retirement to serve as a resource for Dr. Tande and General Counsel Petersen Chancellor Carpenter introduced and welcomed Kristin Petersen. Ms. Petersen will become the General Counsel and Vice Chancellor for Employee Relations on August 20. Chancellor Carpenter also welcomed Korinne Tande to the System Office family. Ms. Tande will become the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs on July 1. Chancellor Carpenter noted the Council of Presidents will be reviewing the optimal enrollment model and reporting on the capacity numbers established for each college at the September or November Board meeting. Chancellor Carpenter outlined the activities for the evening and the retreat to be held Friday, June 8. Presidents’ Reports CSC President Park reported on the TRIO Upward Bound grant Chadron State had received. PSC President Johnson reported on the continued increase of the number of degrees granted at Peru State as well as the continued increase in enrollment. WSC President Collings reported on the efforts being made at Wayne State in response to the review of the crisis communications plan. Student Trustees’ Reports CSC Student Trustee Tyler Thompson reported on the summer activities at Chadron State. WSC Student Trustee Jennifer Myers reported on the street improvements and other activities at Wayne State. PSC Student Trustee Cori Harmon reported on the AWAC renovations and the possible addition of soccer to the athletic offerings. Nominating Committee Report and Election of Officers The Nominating Committee, consisting of Vice Chair Roskens and Trustee Teahon, presented the following slate of officers to the Board: Vice Chair Roskens, Chair Trustee Teahon, Vice Chair A motion to elect the slate was unanimously approved. The officers of the Board of Trustees will also serve as the officers of the Facilities Corporation. 17
