NAVAL RESERVE CADETS
The Australian Sea Cadel Corps is a
voluntary organisation administered
b\ the Commonwealth Naval Board
and The Navv 1-eague of Australia
The aim of the Australian Sea Cadel
Corps is to provide for the spiritual,
social and educational welfare of boys
and to develop in them character, a
sense of patriotism, self-reliance,
citizenship and discipline
Uniforms are supplied free of charge.
Cadets are required to produce a
certificate from their doctor to
H you are the 090* of 13 and 18 years.
confirm they are capable of carrying
out the normal duties and activities of
the Cadet Corps. If injurrd while on
duly. Cadets are considered for
payment of compensation.
Parades are held on Saturday
afternoons and certain Units hold an
additional parade one night a week.
The interesting syllabus of '.raining
covers a wide sphere * includes
seamanship, handling of uoats under
sail and power, navigation, physical
training, rifle shooting, signalling,
splicing of wire and ropes, general

sporting activities and other varied
subjects.
Instructional camps are arranged lor
Sea Cadets in Naval Establishments,
and they are also given opportunities,
whenever possible, to undertake
training at sea in ships of the Royal
Australian Navy.
Cadets, if considering a sea career,
are given every assistance to join the
Royal Australian Navy, the Mercantile
Marine or the Royal Australian Naval
Reserve, but there is no compulsion to
join these Services
