Lavastaja Pär Isberg andis Vanemuises balletile “Uinuv kaunitar” uue elu.
Vanemuise teatri tantsutrupp tähistab tänavu 70. tegutsemisaastat. Selleks puhuks pole
kohasemat balletilavastust kui Pjotr Tšaikovski muusikale loodud “Uinuv kaunitar”. Muinasjutt
sajaks aastaks unne suikunud printsessist kuulub balletiklassika kullafondi sama kindlalt kui
“Luikede järv”. Marius Petipa poolt loodud koreograafiaga “Uinuv kaunitar” oli õigupoolest just
see ballett, mis Pjotr Tšaikovski nime balletiheliloojate esiritta jäädvustas, erinevalt “Luikede
järvest”, mis, küll aastaid varem, publiku poolt leebelt öeldes leigelt vastu võeti. Sestap on
“Uinuv kaunitar” sünnipäevalavastuseks igati õigustatud valik. /…/
Spetsiaalselt Vanemuise truppi silmas pidades on loodud “Uinuvale kaunitarile” täiesti uus
libreto. Ümber mängitud on nii ajastu kui tegevuspaik. Muinasjutulossi asemel on laval hoopiski
20. sajandi alguse rannakuurort.
Nimelt tehnika
pealtung on see, millele lavastuse loojad on keskse konflikti üles ehitanud./…/
Kaunitar Aurora saab Vanemuises grammofonilt surmavalt nõelata.
Director Pär Isberg gave a new life to the ballet “Sleeping Beauty” at the Vanemuine.
Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The fairytale of a princess falling into sleep for a hundred years belongs to
the ballet classics gold pool as surely as “Swan Lake”. „Sleeping Beauty“ with the choreography
by Marius Petipa was in truth precisely the ballet that captured the name of Pyotr Tchaikovsky
into the ballet composers’ front row, unlike “Swan Lake” that was, mildly put, accepted halfheartedly
years before. Therefore, the choosing of “Sleeping Beauty” as the birthday production
is justified in all respects. /…/
Specially for the Vanemuine troupe, a totally new libretto has been created to the „Sleeping
Beauty“. The era as well as the area of activity has been readjusted. Instead of the fairytale
castle we see a beach resort from the beginning of the 20th century. There are no princesses or
curses this time but the spirits of the second act reviving in the spider webs are the ones that
carry the fairytale mystery so common to the ballet world. Nevertheless, the beautiful era a
century ago seems like fully qualified fantasy nostalgia owing to the unattainable distance and
the classical dance technique. The lost „yesterday’s world“ is revived on stage, the time when
the high society lived a wasteful rejoicing leisurely life, and the gramophone and the film camera
created as much admiration as disbelief. The attack of the technics is exactly what the creators
of the production have built upon the central conflict./…/
Beauty Aurora gets a deadly sting from the Vanemuine gramophone.
