Vanemuise balleti 2009/2010 hooaeg tõotab tulla süvafilosoofiline ja mitmepalgelise
koreograafilise keelega.
Esietendub kaks väga erilist projekti - Janek Savolaineni „Vanamees ja meri“ (E. Hemingway
samanimelise lühiromaani ainetel) Sadamateatris ja Ballets Russes´i Pariisi hooajast (1911)
inspireeritud balletiõhtu “Petruška pärastlõuna” Stravinski, Debussy ja Raveli muusikale, mille
toob lavale Rootsi nüüdistantsu tunnustatumaid koreograafe Pontus Lidberg koostöös Eesti noore
andeka moedisaineri Triinu Pungitsaga, kelle käe all valmivad viiskümmend erilist kostüümi.
Hooaja avaetendus, Vanemuise balleti juubeligala, 22. augustil Tartu laululaval, kutsub külla
kõiki klassikalise balleti ja nüüdistantsu austajaid. Meenutame video vahendusel Vanemuise
The Vanemuine ballet season 2009/2010 looks like to become in-depth philosophical and with
a multifaced choreographical language.
Two very special projects have a premiere - Janek Savolainen’s “The Old Man and the Sea” (on
the basis of the E. Hemingway namesake short novel) at the Harbour Theatre and the ballet
night “Petrushka’s Afternoon” of Russian ballet (Ballets Russes) inspired by the Parisian
season (1911) on the music by Stravinsky, Debussy and Ravel that is staged by one of the most
appreciated Swedish contemporary dance choreographers Pontus Lindberg in
cooperation with the talented young Estonian fashion designer Triinu Pungits under whose lead
fifty exceptional costumes will be made.
The season opening performance, the Vanemuine ballet jubilee gala, on August 22 at the Tartu
Song Festival Ground invites all classical ballet and contemporary dance admirers. We reminisce
the 70 years of the Vanemuine ballet with video materials, we offer the audience the best of the
Vanemuine ballet troupe and guests from the Estonian National Opera, Swedish Royal Ballet,
Moscow Bolshoi Theatre and St. Petersburg Maria Theatre.
The Vanemuine ballet is grateful for its audience for the trust you have given us to go forward
and to look for ever more interesting challenges in order to broaden still the borders of the art
of dance.
