Children’s<br />
Call your hospital if you are<br />
concerned about these:<br />
• Anytime your child does not feel well or look right<br />
• Anytime your are worried about your child.<br />
• If temperature is 38° C or above, during business hours call the CCC and<br />
seek advice, after hours call the switch and ask them to page the paediatric<br />
registrar.<br />
• Infection – redness, tenderness anywhere on the body<br />
• Contact with Chicken Pox Measles, or Mumps<br />
• Bleeding – nose bleed for more than five minutes, bleeding gums,<br />
bruising or petechiae (tiny red or purple flat spots on the skin)<br />
• Excessive tiredness, paleness, shortness of breath<br />
• Dehydration – decreased urine, dry mouth, no tears when crying<br />
• Pain –severe or persistent<br />
• Refusing to drink<br />
• Not swallowing saliva<br />
• Missed a dose of medication<br />
• Vomiting less than half an hour after medication<br />
