The Children’s Ward
The Children’s Ward at Albury Base Hospital is a general children’s ward caring
for children and adolescents with a variety of illnesses. The ward has 16 beds
in total. There are four single rooms known as isolation rooms. When possible,
your child will be nursed in one of these rooms whilst an inpatient on the
Children’s Ward.
How the ward works
The Children’s Ward can be a very busy and noisy place. The ward aims to
be child and family friendly, encouraging and supporting parents/caregivers
to participate in your child’s care and decision-making. The Children’s Ward
has a rest period from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm each day, other than that we try
to be as flexible as possible with routines. Please discuss your child’s normal
routines (eg sleeping times etc) with the nursing staff so that these can be
accommodated during your child’s stay.
