Section 14: Installing The Linkages

Balsa Dowel (2)

Heat Shrink Tubing
1/16” Plain Rod, Long (2)
1/16” Plain Rod, Short (2)
Plastic Clevis (4)
1/16” Threaded Rod (4)
Drill with 1/16“ Drill Bit
Heat Gun
Hobby Knife or Scissors
Needle Nose Pliers
Thick CA Glue
Z-Bender Pliers
Installing the Aileron Linkage
❑ 3.
Select an X servo horn and trim the long arms off as
shown.
❑ 1.
Locate the wing, two aileron horns, two threaded rods,
and two clevis. Using the Z-Bender pliers, make a z-
bend 4-1/8 inches from the threaded end of both rods
and cut off the extra length of rod.
❑ 4.
Install the servo horn on the aileron servo, as shown.
Install the z-bends in the second, outermost hole from
the center of the servo horn, as shown.
❑ 2.
Screw a clevis onto the threaded portion of both rods.
