This is typically accomplished by the use of scatter diagrams in which the relationship of each variable with other variables is examined in a pair-wise fashion and displayed as a series of 2-dimensional graphs. This was accomplished by using the Statistica software. The variables graphed included the distribution coefficient (K d in ml/g), pH, CEC (in meq/100g), electrical conductivity of soil extract (EC in mmhos/cm), dissolved carbonate concentration in soil extract (DCARB in meq/l), inorganic carbon content (IC as percent CaCO 3), organic carbon content (OC as wt.%), and the clay content (CLAY as wt.%).
