for something a little different for all swimmers. No breath starts and finishes, a dive and
glide competition, some intense drills and tumble turn practice. Many thanks to Ivan who
cooked up a storm on the BBQ for lunch. Then after a short break, the swimmers hit the
water again.
Back at camp, showers, dinner, clean up duties and a slide show of photos taken that day
followed by a game of Celebrity Head. By this stage most were ready for bed, it had been a
long day. Some stayed up and enjoyed the bonfire.
Breakfast was a wonderful feast of bacon and eggs, hash browns, cereals, toast and juice.
Although some swimmers were a little sleepy (maybe they were the ones still giggling at
midnight) and slow to get going, we were all packed up and ready waiting for the bus to take
us back into the pool by 9.00am.
Dynamic warm up to wake everyone up and then back into the
water for heart rate sets, a kick set and more practice with
turns. Lastly, before finishing there were Duncan Armstrong
15m finishes, dive starts and a relay change over practice.
Pizza’s arrived for lunch and it was time to say goodbye to
many a new friend. The swimmers are to be commended on their behaviour and attitude for
the weekend. A huge thank you to Scott for his time and expertise in coaching the swimmers,
his efforts are greatly appreciated by both the swimmers and the Wide Bay Committee.
Thanks to Di and Anne who assisted Scott. A special thanks to the managers and parent
supervisors, it would be impossible to have these camps without volunteers. Lastly, thanks to
Michele who organised everything including the invitations to the camp, the venue, the
awesome food, the bus to and from the pool and the list goes on and on. Where to in 2009?
