COOLOOLA COAST CROCS SWIMMING CLUB INC.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
The first year of the Cooloola Coast Crocs Swimming Club Inc. has been a very successful one. We’ve
received great support from all the parent members and local businesses from Tin Can Bay through to
Rainbow Beach.
We currently have 72 members (31 of whom are competitive members and 11 recreational). Everybody
involved is committed to making all club nights lots of fun and at the same time helping others to reach their
goals.
We always have some raffle or fundraising event on the go and are always looking for new ways to improve
the Club and grow and keeping it fun but also have the necessary avenues and guidance there for members
who want to strive and achieve whilst always remembering the Club is for the swimmers.
Our Club is always well represented by a number of swimmers doing consistently well at all meets attended.
Many of these swimmers also went on not only to compete in State and Wide Bay Titles but achieved some
very impressive results, doing themselves and the Club very proud. We had six representatives at the Zoggs
2009 Sprint Titles; eleven members at Wide Bay with six competing in finals; four have qualified for SC State
and so far four for the LC State in December of this year, and the year is only young. Ten members qualified
for JX with one Gold Star; four Silver, one Bronze and four Green recipients. Two members also competed at
the School State Championships.
With word of the success of the club spreading quickly, we have already had many enquiries regarding
membership for next season. This is a good sign that our Club will continue to prosper for years to come. We
hope to harness and wish we could bottle the enthusiasm, commitment and interest shown in our first year so
as to enable the continuance of the Club as there are so many children and people that are in want of sporting
clubs and interests in our area.
We were all delighted to hear that the Club won first place in Division 6 of the Wide Bay Regional
Association – fantastic result.
Our first Awards Night went very well being held at the Tin Can Bay Country Club. The Country Club
donated the use of their function room where we had the use of the BBQ area and kitchen facilities. The
swimming club provided the meat for the BBQ and members were asked to bring either munchies, salads or
desserts. There was plenty for everyone.
Looking forward to the next season, now the bar has been set.
