FRASER COAST SWIMMING CLUB INC
Presidents Report
I would like to thank the members of our executive committee, Registrar / carnival coordinator Tracey
Jackson, secretary Michelle Bott, Treasurer Lorraine Wilson, Club night recorder Linda Hodkinson and other
committee members for their efforts and support throughout the year. Special thanks to Michaela Ingle and
team for organizing the club night BBQ all year. I would also like to thank all those who assisted with our
fundraising events with donations of time and money throughout the year. Thanks to Penny Elder for her
efforts in ensuring our club looks great out and about with club uniforms.
.
Many thanks to Marcus and Penny Elder from Elders Swim Centre who over the last season have built a
specific 25m pool for training and club night racing. This has provided the club with a facility that ensures
that our swimmers have no restrictions to their development as swimmers into the future
This season we had 61 competitive swimmers which again is an increase on last years numbers
Club night attendance was very pleasing with on average 50 swimmers attending right through the season.
We attended numerous carnivals around the region, regularly having over 30 swimmers attend, with 40
attending a couple of our local carnivals.
Wide bay championships were a success for the club with many finalist and a number of medallists. We had
swimmers attend both State Primary and Secondary schools champs this year, with 7 swimmers attending
State Age Champs and exceeding all expectations with large personal best times. We also have 2 swimmers
attending National School champs in Perth.
Our end of season club picnic presentation day was well received and a great day was had by all. Thanks to
the boat drivers Des See, Brett Johns and Marcus Elder, who drag kids around Burrum Heads Bay all
afternoon on ‘Boogy Boards and Tubes.
Australia Zoo trip was lots of fun for all who attended in July 08 and this year the club is going to Chaverim
Camp in Bundaberg for a day trip.
Thankyou again for all your support during the season.
Marcus Elder
President.
