A number of eniployces exporienccd in raobs have not submitted Forni
4048, which is required cach January and July from all those who 11ave

REPORTS ON SPECIAL DETAILS OF FIELD OFFICIALS TO REGIONAL OFFICES
Regional Offices arc incrcnsingly exercking their iwgiond travcl nuthority
to have station oflicials visit tho re~ional office for brief periods
of conference, diRcussion, and acquaintance with activities in the ragional
office and the adjacent forecast center.
Such visits are wry dcsirublc. Instructioiis regarding tlic travel roport
following such a vkit rcquiro that tho report be ninde in the forin of a
letter addresmd to Chief of Bureau through the rrgionnl office.
It is rcqucstcd that thcre be no dcviation from this practice and that
the regional office add its ‘endorsement to such ictters indicating in a
general way what has beon accornplishcd in tho. course of such visits.
The Central Oflice expects to add such reports to the contra1 personnel
files aa 11 part of tho expcricnce rccord of the employee concerned.
