QUARTOSEPTCENTENNIAL SPECIAL SOUVENIRRenovation & Painting ofthe Main BlockRenovation & Refurbishing ofthe Miller Memorial LibraryThe Main block of <strong>Madras</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>College</strong> housingthe Principal’s Office, the Bursar’s Office, the Anderson Halland the Arts and Science Blocks, got a face lift through arenovation and painting project, which commenced on 12 thApril 2012. The 75 year old structure, looked new and brightfor the start of the new academic year. Machines usingadvanced technology were used for painting. In addition,electrical and ceiling renovation work was also donewherever necessary.Renovation work in progressAs a part of Quartoseptcentennial Celebrations of<strong>Madras</strong> <strong>Christian</strong> <strong>College</strong>, The Miller Memorial Library hasbeen completely revamped in terms of infrastructure and theaccessibility of the resources. Various new sections have beenintroduced namely the Reference section, Book Bank section,Competitive Exam section, Periodicals section, Maps, Audio/Video facility, Projects and Thesis, Braille etc., OPAC (OnlinePublic Access Catalogue) is the recent additional benefit,which has been introduced to the student community.The Miller Memorial Library has achieved its vision ofcreation and dissemination of knowledge through ICT whichin turn endeavors and empowers faculty and studentsto achieve academic excellence. The books in the MillerMemorial Library are in the process of getting bar coded forautomated circulation. Apart from library automation, MillerLibrary acquired access to many online databases throughsubscription.
