RESEARCH<br />

Industrial Organizational Psychology: Faculty and graduate students<br />

are actively engaged in a variety <strong>of</strong> research topics, including<br />

the use <strong>of</strong> personality measures in selection, structural equation<br />

modeling, cognitive processes <strong>of</strong> work teams, employment law,<br />

training evaluation, the role <strong>of</strong> feedback in organizational survey<br />

topics and differences in work attitudes across cultures.<br />

Doctor <strong>of</strong> Psychology: Faculty and doctoral students in the Psy.D.<br />

program are engaged in a number <strong>of</strong> research topics including<br />

personality assessment, self-knowledge, gender and multicultural<br />

issues, traumatology, child maltreatment, parent-child interactions,<br />

adaptation to aging, forensic issues and neuropsychological<br />

assessment.<br />

Cognition Applied Research Lab (CARL): The Cognition Applied<br />

Research Laboratory (CARL) is an interdisciplinary group dedicated<br />

to the investigation <strong>of</strong> human–computer interaction (HCI)<br />

with focus on perception afforded cognition and cognitive tools.<br />

CARL includes faculty, and graduate and undergraduate students<br />

from all science disciplines who are interested in interdisciplinary<br />

experimental and applied research.<br />

The mission <strong>of</strong> CARL is to enhance the qualities <strong>of</strong> life, learning and<br />

work by making people think smarter. Current and future research<br />

projects include knowledge visualizations, animation, complexityshock,<br />

aging and HCI, brain–computer interfaces and HCI security.<br />
